BMW N52B25 Troubleshooting

Engine doesn't start or hard to start

Empty gas tank - Fill fuel up.
Incorrect fuel grade - Use quality fuel.
Air or water in fuel system - Remove water or air from fuel system.
Damaged spark plug wiring connection - Check spark plug wiring connection, repair or change.
Defective spark plug - Install new spark plug.
Ignition system failure - Check ignition and replace faulty components.
Clogged fuel filter - Install new filter.
Fuel lines are clogged - Service fuel lines.
Fuel pump is faulty or clogged - Service or change fuel pump.
Dirty or faulty fuel injectors - Service or change fuel injectors.
Poor cylinder compression - Check cylinder block and change worn parts.

Engine runs unevenly

Ignition system failure - Check ignition system and replace faulty parts.
Clogged air filter - Change or service air filter.
Spark plug is damaged - Install new spark plug.
Fuel pump is dirty or defective - Clean or replace fuel pump.
Valve clearance is improper - Adjust to proper valve clearance.
Bad ignition timing - Set the ignition timing properly.
Low idle speed set incorrectly - Adjust the low idle speed.

Engine stalls after starting

Spark plug is damaged - Change spark plug.
